iDiscovery Solutions' Jim Vaughn to Speak with Seyfarth Shaw LLP on Trade Secrets at Live CLE on May 17

iDiscovery Solutions (iDS), an award-winning legal technology consulting and expert services firm, announced today that Managing Director Jim Vaughn will co-present Trade Secret Protection: What Every California Employer Needs to Know” along with three of Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s top attorneys. The 90-minute CLE from will take place Wednesday, May 17, at 8:30 a.m. ET at Seyfarth Shaw’s San Francisco office.

New laws concerning trade secrets, and the content of employment agreements with California employees, makes trade secret identification and protection more critical than ever. The distinguished panel will cover:

  • How to best identify and protect trade secrets
  • What employers need to know about the DTSA
  • The impact of new California Labor Code Section 925
  • Effective use of restrictive covenants in employment agreements
  • How to catch a trade secret thief
  • Responses to potential trade secret theft

Mr. Vaughn is a court-recognized expert who has given testimony in over 70 cases covering evidence preservation, documentation of events, computer forensic methodologies and procedures, and more.  He has 16 years law enforcement experience, has co-developed computer forensic courses for the California Department of Justice, and has been involved in high profile cases throughout his career.  Mr. Vaughn is certified by the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS) as a Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE).  He will be joined by Seyfarth attorneys Robert Milligan, Scott Atkinson, and Jim McNairy.
