Planning. Whether your dispute involves highly confidential information across hundreds of custodians or is simply a one-custodian, first-pass relevance review, choosing the right tool can be critical. Different tools have different strengths. Our team has hands-on experience with most commercial data processing and review platforms. As such, we are often called upon to offer practical advice about underlying technology, reliability, ease-of-use, and feature sets that may work well for a particular matter.

Process Management. iDS project management protocols lead to the development of effective controls that give counsel constant visibility into reviewer productivity and review progress. Project reporting includes data loading progress, reviewer efficiency, document decisions, production tracking, and other metrics. Working together with counsel, the iDS team is able to make the best workflow, analysis, and process decisions that keep the case team fully informed.

Foreign Languages. Working with non-English character sets presents challenges throughout the e-Discovery lifecycle (identification, search, collection, processing and review). Therefore, e-Discovery efforts related to non-English data should be methodical and systematic to ensure that potentially responsive data is identified. Additional issues arise when multiple document encodings are utilized within an organization. Not only is the primary language encoding of concern, but each language’s encoding requires special consideration when crafting search terms and executing the searches. iDS has experience with OCRing, processing, hosting, searching, and analyzing the following languages: Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Finnish, Norwegian (2 dialects), German, Arabic, Dutch, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and English. We also cover machine translation for most languages.
